Over the years, Marco Toso Borella has led his choristers to perform in the most evocative and prestigious venues in the city of Venice, from the Doge’s Palace to St. Mark’s Square, from the Basilica dei Frari and Ss. Giovanni e Paolo, to the Scuole Grandi.
In Veneto, he has had the opportunity to grace important stages such as the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre, the Teatro Goldoni in Venice, the Teatro Del Monaco in Treviso, the Teatro Verdi in Padua, the Teatro Comunale in Vicenza, and the Teatro Nuovo in Verona, to name just a few.
Other prestigious regional venues include the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Longarone, the Church of the Eremitani in Padua, the Gran Guardia Auditorium in Verona, and the Palladian Temple in Possagno (TV).
His presence in the official program of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto has been confirmed for over 10 years as the longest-running and most continuous among artistic presences.

Third edition of the “Summer Night” with the Big Vocal Orchestra on the occasion of World Music Day and the summer solstice. The longest night was illuminated by the energy of the voices of the Big Vocal Orchestra lined up on the staircase of the Palazzo del Casinò at the Lido di Venezia.

On World Blood Donor Day, Avis Mirano in collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Maria di Sala organized a Big Vocal Orchestra concert in the park of the splendid Villa Farsetti. A very large audience attended the event and also contributed to a fundraiser dedicated to AIL.

On the occasion of “SINFONIE DELLO SPIRITO. Sacred Music and Franciscan words,” our voices shed their most exuberant garb to don a cloak of sobriety and spirituality.
Interspersed with the words of St. Francis and the reflections of Father Tommaso, the singing of the Big Vocal Orchestra rose with respect and intensity, offering the very large audience a unique immersive, artistic, and spiritual experience. The proposed repertoire was selected from a choice of sacred music and Christian and gospel-inspired pieces.

For the very first time, the complete Big Vocal Orchestra made its entrance into the Hall of the Great Council of the Doge’s Palace in Venice for the San Marco Prize ceremony organized by the Municipality of Venice. The choir performed at the beginning of the event the Italian National Anthem, the madrigal sung in the times of the Serenissima Republic on the day of the Festa della Sensa “Spirto di Dio,” and the Hymn of San Marco, all according to an original and solemn reinterpretation. On this occasion, director Marco Toso Borella was awarded the “Citizenship Prize” as part of the San Marco Prize.

A now traditional appointment for over 10 years for the Venetian April 25 with the Vocal Skyline on the stage of the Teatro Goldoni on the occasion of Liberation Day and San Marco. On stage “ETERNAUTI. Travelers of the ether,” a dramaturgy that paid homage to the genius of David Bowie 10 years after his passing and proposed a disenchanted reflection on the relationship between Man and Artificial Intelligence.

The Vocal Skyline had the honor of inaugurating the reopening to the public, after 60 years of closure, of the Church of Santa Maria del Pianto, within the complex of the Venice Civil Hospital. It is the only church overlooking the Northern Lagoon and will be the protagonist of a restoration project. The event was promoted by the Fondazione Museo Scuola Grande di San Marco e della Sanità.

The Big Vocal Orchestra had the honor and privilege of animating with song the community liturgical celebration on Sunday, March 15 at the Basilica dei Frari in Venice. The 200 Venetian voices, lined up on the marvelous wooden choir that represents the only Venetian example of a church with a central choir, accompanied the celebration by intoning the chant at different liturgical moments. A composed and intense mass that erupted into a joyful gospel only at its conclusion, before a very large assembly.
The mass was preceded, on Friday, by open-door rehearsals that allowed parishioners and non-parishioners to participate in the rehearsal of the chants and thus join in the choir’s singing.

The complete Big Vocal Orchestra, lined up above and at the foot of the official Paralympic stage, animated St. Mark’s Square with its music while awaiting the arrival of the Paralympic Torch, traveling from Cortina to Venice.

for Cucine Economiche Popolari
A touching show for the very large audience at Teatro OPSA in Padua. In the third edition of the charity concert for Cucine Economiche Popolari of Padua, the Big Vocal Orchestra moved spectators with a concert tailored to the values and spirit of solidarity that pervades all the daily activities of the Cucine in favor of the city’s most vulnerable people. The concert was preceded by a meeting of the choristers with the guests of the OPSA facility who were able to participate in the rehearsals and a preview of the concert. All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the projects of Cucine Economiche Popolari.

Great excitement for the surprise reserved for guests of the private event that took place on Saturday, November 8 inside the new event space of Cantina Masi in Valpolicella, Verona “Via Monteleone 21”, created by STUDIO ARCHITETTI MAR.
Several moving moments were proposed, from the “Plessi Experience” when the Vocal Skyline generated acoustic magic inside the “Fruttaio,” an evocative place reminiscent of a cathedral and inside which was positioned an installation by Fabrizio Plessi. The guests were then involved in an immersive concert that saw them surrounded by the voices of the Big Vocal Orchestra for a unique and overwhelming emotional experience.

First time for the Vocal Skyline inside the splendid spaces of the Ateneo Veneto which once housed the Scuola Grande di San Fantin.
It is the second stop of La Voce Grande di Venezia 3, which involves a Scuola Grande that has disappeared today as an institution but whose artistic heritage has been inherited by the prestigious cultural center Ateneo Veneto. The Scuola Grande di San Fantin, in fact, was called “dei picai” because its main mission was to accompany and comfort those condemned to death by the Serenissima Republic.

A vocal embrace from the stage and auditorium of the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre, to the warriors of the Associazione Trifoglio Rosa Mestre APS, an organization committed to social promotion alongside women who have undergone breast cancer surgery.
The proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Associazione Trifoglio Rosa Mestre APS to enable more and more women to practice the sport of dragon boat free of charge as a form of psycho-physical rehabilitation after breast cancer. The event was made possible thanks to the collaboration of CentroMarca Banca Credito Cooperativo di Treviso e Venezia and opened the initiatives of Pink October of the Municipality of Venice, in the month dedicated to breast cancer prevention.

A multiplicity of voices, musical genres, art forms, and fragments. Like those of a living cross that continues to pulse in the places and people where space is made for it.
Fragments of a dialogue between history and daily life: an ancient institution of the Republic of Venice, with its history and the artistic heritage it contains, opens itself to an encounter with contemporary language, in search of a common spark.

A breathtaking “immersive concert” for the first stage of the second edition of La Voce Grande di Venezia: 200 voices along the perimeter of the very long San Domenico Corridor embraced the audience, gathered in groups of chairs arranged in every direction for a 360° artistic experience blending history, art, music, fun, and emotion. The concert represented the stage dedicated to the Scuola Grande di San Marco, located in the spaces of what is now the Civil Hospital of Venice.

Goldoni Theater - Venice
A completely renewed repertoire and format on the stage of the Goldoni Theater for the “traditional” Vocal Skyline appointment for the Feast of Liberation from Nazi-Fascism and St. Mark’s Day, promoted by the Teatro Stabile del Veneto.
This April 25 represents a true revolution for our choral group, with the proposal of a show that raises the quality bar even further.
Not only a varied and original repertoire featuring bold and unpublished choral arrangements, but also many choreographies and stage effects for an emotional crescendo that led the audience by the hand through reflection and fun, emotion and participation.
The choir members have transformed into 360° performers: singers, dancers, actors. A show entirely “made in Venice” without any external “special guests.”

Venice Heritage Tower - Marghera (VE)
Our 2024 begins with a high-altitude concert. The exceptional setting for a change of perspective that is increasingly finding space in our artistic project is the Venice Heritage Tower, a former cooling tower in Porto Marghera, now an incubator for events and memory linked to the industrial history of the Venetian mainland. Event organized in collaboration with the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority.

Teatro Verdi - Padua
In a Teatro Verdi sold out for months, the Big Vocal Orchestra presented its original show “C’è un posto per tutti” (There’s a place for everyone) to the Padua audience, conceived, desired, and promoted by and for the Cucine Economiche Popolari di Padova. Thanks to the collaboration of Banca Generali Private, the entire proceeds from the box office were donated to the projects of the Cucine, which has been serving the underprivileged for 140 years.
