Shah Mat (Checkmate), the move that decrees victory in chess, becomes here an allegory of the Murano microcosm and of all humanity. The work is structured as a chessboard of a thousand illusory viewpoints, where every pawn is convinced it is in the right, and the loser is left with no escape. Mirrored fragments capture the visitor, projecting them into a chaotic game of perspectives. A lucid metaphor for incommunicability, where truth shatters into infinite illusions. The King is dead. Long live the King!
