A new intense appointment at the Basilica dei Frari for the Big Vocal Orchestra directed by Marco Toso Borella.
Saturday, May 9 at 8:30 PM inside the Basilica dei Frari sacred music and Franciscan words will intertwine with the 200 Venetian voices of Italy’s largest choir, which has had its “home” for weekly Venetian rehearsals in the heart of the Frari parish for over 10 years. The event is organized by the Franciscan friars of the Frari community to solemnly celebrate the Franciscan Jubilee Year on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, and to do this they invited the group to select a special repertoire of sacred pieces to create a “time of the Spirit” in the evocative Gothic setting of the fourteenth-century conventual church.
An evening of listening that in everyone’s heart can become prayer and spiritual elevation.
